Stade de Reims reject Mohamed Daramy exit request as Adil Bourabaa makes his mark

Stade de Reims have decided to keep Mohamed Daramy despite the forward asking to leave during the most recent transfer window.

Daramy, whose contract with the Ligue 1 club runs until 2028, attracted attention after speaking publicly about his situation. The attacker, who is of Sierra Leonean origin, confirmed that he had requested permission to depart.

According to comments reported by Reims VDT, Reims’ leadership opposed the move as they sought to preserve the competitiveness of their squad for the current season. Daramy has therefore remained with the professional first team.

Elsewhere, Adil Bourabaa’s progress at Le Mans has highlighted the role played by former Algeria international Mansour Boutabout in helping the young player rebuild his career.

Bourabaa has impressed with a series of strong performances for Le Mans after being released by Troyes. His route to the French club followed a spell with Leganes’ reserve side, but his prospects became uncertain when ESTAC rejected the option of offering him a new contract.

Boutabout, who had closely followed Bourabaa’s displays at Troyes, was convinced that the player still had significant room for development. The former Algeria international told Maghreb-Foot that he intervened with officials at Boufia to help secure Bourabaa’s move before also providing decisive expertise during the player’s signing for Le Mans FC.

The midfielder’s emergence at Le Mans has now been matched by growing recognition at international level. Bourabaa was recommended by Boutabout to Algeria scout Mohsen Haimour and Under-23 manager Rafik Saifi.

The player quickly impressed the national-team staff and has since become a new figure of interest for Algeria. His rise follows a difficult period after leaving Troyes, with his performances at Le Mans helping to revive his career and establish him among the country’s emerging talents.
