Adel Aouchiche set for Algeria starting chance in Burundi Africa Cup qualifier

Adel Aouchiche says Algeria are determined to complete a second victory against Burundi when the sides meet in the second round of 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying on Tuesday.

“Our work is not finished and we are striving to get our second win against Burundi,” Aouchiche said at a news conference on Monday.

“I always try to give my best, whether with the national team or at club level.”

The Schalke midfielder is waiting for his first start for Algeria after making only one appearance for the national side. He came on as a substitute in the friendly against Guatemala, which Algeria won 7-0 in preparation for the 2026 World Cup.

Algeria will play Burundi at the home side’s stadium on Tuesday.
