Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, a former Member of Parliament for Asante Akim North Constituency, has raised eyebrows with assertions that a significant faction of the Black Stars squad is advocating for the removal of team captain Andre Ayew.
In a candid statement on Kessben FM, Agyemang suggested that, based on his conversations with various current players, there exists a prevailing sentiment that Ayew’s influence has a detrimental effect on the team’s overall performance.
According to his claims, these players believe that excluding Ayew could lead to substantial enhancements in team dynamics and outcomes.
“Some of the old players, especially, are a negative influence and must be sacked. Their presence in the team is not conducive to team cohesion and fraternity.
Dede Ayew should be removed from the Black Stars. Let’s take him out and introduce some new faces. If we do that, you will see a massive improvement in the team,” Agyemang asserted.
He elaborated on the perceived issues, stating, “He no longer wields improvement on the team, and his presence brings a lot of issues. Most of the players feel he doesn’t help with their cohesion, so they want him gone. I talk to a lot of the players.”
In addition to his comments on the team composition, Agyemang emphasized the critical importance of the Ghana Football Association appointing a coach well-versed in the intricacies of Ghanaian and African football dynamics.
He stressed the necessity for a coach who comprehends the unique aspects of Ghanaian and African football, ensuring adaptability and success on the continental stage.
