Zamalek schedule two friendlies against Modern Sport and ENPPI during international break

Zamalek’s technical staff, led by Moataz Gamal, have arranged two friendly matches during the current international break as the White Knights step up preparations for a demanding period of the season.

The Egyptian giants will use the two fixtures to maintain the squad’s competitive rhythm and give members of the team valuable playing time ahead of their upcoming domestic and continental commitments.

Zamalek will begin their friendly programme against Modern Sport on Sunday, September 27, with the match scheduled to take place at the auxiliary field of Cairo International Stadium.

The White Knights will then face ENPPI on Sunday, October 4, at Petrosport Stadium in their second preparation match during the break.

The coaching staff are expected to use both encounters to assess the squad and provide opportunities for players who have had limited minutes in competitive matches.

The friendlies will also allow the technical team to work on tactical aspects of the team while maintaining the players’ fitness ahead of the return to competitive action.

Zamalek’s next official fixture is scheduled for October 7, when they face ZED in the League Cup, known as the Capital of Egypt Cup.

The White Knights are facing a busy period, with the club competing on several fronts, including the Egyptian Premier League, the CAF Champions League and the Egyptian Capital Cup.

The technical staff therefore consider the two friendly matches important in ensuring that the squad remains prepared for the challenges ahead.

The coaching team will also have the opportunity to evaluate different combinations and give younger or less frequently used players the chance to stake their claim for more regular involvement.

Zamalek have made a strong start to their league campaign and currently occupy second place with 13 points, level with Al Ahly.

Pyramids currently lead the Egyptian Premier League standings with 15 points, meaning Zamalek will be looking to maintain their challenge at the top when league action resumes.

The two friendlies against Modern Sport and ENPPI are consequently expected to form an important part of Zamalek’s preparations as the club enters a crucial stretch of the campaign.
