There is a strong inclination towards holding the Egyptian Cup final, slated between Al Ahly and Zamalek, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a source from the Egyptian Football Association revealed on Friday.
Speaking to “Kooora,” the source stated, “There have been recent discussions about holding the Egyptian Cup final in Saudi Arabia.
The intention leans towards approval, but the matter has not been officially decided yet.”
Regarding the match date, the source suggested a change from March 13th to March 9th, before the start of Ramadan, to provide an opportunity for the Egyptian national team’s coaching staff to hold their first camp before traveling to the UAE for the international tournament on March 18th.
It’s worth mentioning that Al Ahly secured their place in the final after defeating ENPPI 3-0 in the semifinals, while Zamalek overcame Pyramids in a penalty shootout following a 3-3 draw in regular and extra time.
