Diomande responds to Adeyemi’s wife after €140m Real Madrid transfer criticism

Real Madrid teenager Yan Diomande has appeared to answer a mocking social media comment from Loredana, the wife of Barcelona forward Karim Adeyemi, by posting a TikTok video rather than responding to her directly.

The 19-year-old was filmed on a Real Madrid team bus mouthing the words to “Mijabo”, a song by singer Sithlou whose lyrics refer to standing firm and ignoring those who criticise you.

The choice of song appeared to be directed at Diomande’s critics, particularly Loredana, according to German newspaper Bild.

The lyrics selected by the player included: “140 million… that is what they asked for. They will always continue to criticise us, but we will continue to rise.”

The post was shared on 21 September 2026 by El Chiringuito TV, with the caption: “140 MILLONES. They will always come to criticise us… We just keep rising. DIOMANDE vindicates himself on social media.”

Diomande’s video followed a comment Loredana had left on one of his earlier Instagram posts. She wrote simply: “140 million”, in what appeared to be a sarcastic reference to the fee Real Madrid paid to sign him.

Bild reported that Loredana later deleted the comment, although it had already attracted widespread attention. The exchange drew particular interest because Adeyemi joined Barcelona in the same summer for about 22m euros.

Diomande moved to Real Madrid after negotiations in which he had also been linked with a transfer to Liverpool. The deal involved a basic fee of 120m euros, with the total potentially rising to 140m euros through incentives.

That would make him the second-most expensive player in Real Madrid’s history, behind Jude Bellingham.

The forward’s start in Madrid, however, has not matched the size of the transfer. He has played eight matches without scoring and has provided one assist.

Adeyemi has made a stronger early impression at Barcelona, scoring three goals and setting up three more in his eight appearances. The contrasting figures have intensified comparisons between the two players, particularly given the significant difference in their transfer fees.

Diomande’s video also prompted frustration among some Real Madrid supporters because it was posted only a few hours after the club’s 2-1 defeat by Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby.

That timing added to the criticism surrounding the post, even though Diomande did not directly mention either Loredana or Adeyemi.
