Pressure builds on Bernard Parker as TS Galaxy enter FIFA break

Pressure is increasing on TS Galaxy head coach Bernard Parker after the club suffered their third defeat of the Betway Premiership campaign.

The Rockets were beaten 1-0 by Chippa United at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday, a result that has raised further concern within the club about a run of results that has left them 12th in the league table.

When the club confirmed in June that Parker would remain in charge for the 2026/27 campaign, the decision represented a show of faith in a coach who had only taken over towards the end of the previous season.

Parker replaced Adnan Beganovic and helped stabilise Galaxy’s position during the closing stages of the campaign. The team went on a five-game unbeaten run, a sequence that ultimately secured their Betway Premiership status.

Sukazi later explained why he had chosen to continue with Parker, despite having previously suggested that the club might seek a more qualified candidate.

That backing is now being tested by Galaxy’s early-season results, with the club expected to use the international break to consider how the situation can be improved.

Orlando Pirates test awaits

The break gives Parker time to work with his squad before the team resumes its league campaign. Galaxy’s next assignment is a demanding away match against Orlando Pirates on October 18.

The fixture will see the Rockets face the defending champions and is expected to provide another significant test of Parker’s team following the defeat by Chippa United.

For now, there is no indication that TS Galaxy are preparing to make an immediate change to their technical team. Parker remains expected to lead the side into the FIFA break and beyond.
