Fenerbahçe plot January move for Morocco and Sunderland star Shamseddine Talbi

Fenerbahçe have reportedly identified Moroccan international Shamseddine Talbi as a potential target ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.

The Turkish giants is said to be monitoring the Sunderland forward as coach İsmail Kartal looks to strengthen his attacking options, particularly in the wide areas.

According to reports, Fenerbahçe officials are attracted to Talbi’s pace, directness and ability to take on defenders in one-on-one situations, qualities they believe could add another dimension to their attack.

The 21-year-old’s versatility is also understood to have caught the attention of the Turkish side. Talbi can operate as a winger on either side of the attack or play in an advanced midfield role behind the striker, giving his potential suitors greater tactical flexibility.

Fenerbahçe reportedly see the Moroccan as a player who could make an immediate contribution while also offering significant room for development because of his age.

However, any January approach is unlikely to be straightforward. Talbi remains under contract with Sunderland until June 2030 and is considered an important part of the English club’s long-term plans.

Sunderland are therefore unlikely to allow the Morocco international to leave easily in the middle of the season, particularly if they receive an approach from Fenerbahçe.
