Kaizer Chiefs Ladies strengthen promotion bid with another victory

Kaizer Chiefs Ladies moved closer to promotion to the elite league after beating Young Achievers FC 2-1 at Duduza Stadium on Sunday.

The result leaves Amakhosazana top of the Gauteng Sasol Women’s Provincial League on 61 points from 25 matches, with five rounds of fixtures remaining in their debut season.

Mamelodi Sundowns are second, while Wits University occupy third place. Both teams have played fewer matches than the leaders.

Unathi Mabena’s side are now unbeaten in 13 consecutive matches. That run includes 12 victories and one draw, with Chiefs Ladies scoring 34 goals.

The latest success followed a 2-0 away win against Bluebirds Ladies FC in their previous fixture. Chiefs Ladies have therefore secured back-to-back victories on the road as they continue their promotion push.
