Ismael Doukoure is expected to join the Cote d’Ivoire squad for the Elephants’ upcoming fixtures after being selected to replace the injured Odilon Kossounou.
According to Ivorian journalist Malick Traore, the 22-year-old Strasbourg defender has been called up following Kossounou’s withdrawal because of injury.
Doukoure has played for Racing Club de Strasbourg since 2022 and offers defensive versatility, having featured both at centre-back and in midfield. That ability gives Cote d’Ivoire an additional option as the team prepares without Kossounou.
His expected arrival comes as the national side undergoes a period of transition, with Herve Renard having recently brought several new players into the squad.
The call-up has not yet been officially confirmed by the Federation ivoirienne de football.
