Arsenal renew interest in Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi ahead of January transfer window

Arsenal are set to continue their search for attacking reinforcements in the January transfer window, with Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi once again emerging as a key target for the Gunners.

According to reports, Arsenal remain interested in signing the highly-rated Franco-Ivorian  forward when he returns from injury. The 20-year-old has been closely monitored by the North London club and could become a major target when the winter transfer window opens.

Kroupi enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, scoring 13 goals and establishing himself as one of the most promising young forwards in English football. His finishing ability, movement and versatility have attracted significant attention from some of Europe’s leading clubs.

Arsenal’s interest in the France youth international is not new. The Gunners tracked his progress throughout the summer as Mikel Arteta considered further additions to his attacking options. However, their plans suffered a setback in late July when Kroupi underwent surgery after fracturing a metatarsal.

The injury ruled the Bournemouth forward out for an estimated three to four months, forcing him to remain on the sidelines during the opening stages of the campaign. With his expected return to competitive action now approaching, Arsenal’s interest could intensify ahead of January.

Tottenham Hotspur have also previously been linked with a move for the young striker, but Bournemouth have consistently maintained that Kroupi was not available for transfer during the summer.

The Cherries are also understood to have placed a significant valuation on their prized asset. Bournemouth would reportedly only consider an offer exceeding £80 million for Kroupi, a figure that underlines the club’s determination to retain one of their most valuable young players.

The reported asking price is considerably higher than Kroupi’s estimated market value of around €40 million on Transfermarkt. However, the Frenchman’s long-term contract, which runs until 2030, gives Bournemouth a strong negotiating position should Arsenal or another interested club make a formal approach.

Kroupi’s emergence has also attracted attention beyond the Premier League, with Paris Saint-Germain previously monitoring his development. His rapid progress has strengthened his reputation as one of the most clinical young finishers in English football.

For Arsenal, the attraction is clear. Arteta has continued to build a squad capable of competing across multiple competitions, and Kroupi could provide another dynamic option in the forward line while adding greater depth and competition for places.

The Gunners are expected to remain active in their pursuit of attacking talent, and Kroupi could once again become a prominent name on their shortlist when the January transfer window opens.

Arsenal are also reportedly keeping tabs on Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García, suggesting that the club could have several positions under consideration as they look to strengthen their squad during the winter market.
