KCCA FC re-sign Uganda striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe from Zakho SC

Uganda striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe has joined KCCA FC from Iraq Stars League side Zakho SC, returning to the Uganda Premier League at the age of 30.

The centre-forward has signed a contract with KCCA that runs until 30 June 2028. His move follows a short spell in Iraq, where he made three league appearances for Zakho during the 2026-27 season and played 106 minutes.

Ahimbisibwe previously represented KCCA during the 2025-26 campaign after joining from Uganda Revenue Authority FC. He made a strong impact in the domestic league, finishing as the Uganda Premier League’s leading scorer with 14 goals that season.

That achievement came after an equally productive campaign with URA, for whom he scored 16 goals in 2024-25 to finish as the competition’s second-highest scorer. His goal record in Uganda established him as one of the country’s most effective central forwards before his move abroad.

The return to KCCA brings Ahimbisibwe back to a club he left for Zakho on 1 July 2026. His latest transfer was completed on 19 September, with the player now registered as part of KCCA’s squad for the new season.

Born in Mbarara on 23 November 1995, Ahimbisibwe stands 1.86m tall and plays primarily as a centre-forward. He began his senior career with Nyamityobora before moving to UPDF FC in 2021, then joining URA in 2023.

His previous domestic clubs give KCCA a striker with established experience in Ugandan football, while his return follows his brief venture into the Iraqi top flight. The move also restores a player who led the Uganda Premier League scoring charts only months before leaving the country.

Ahimbisibwe is now under contract with KCCA FC until June 2028.
