Comoros name 26-man squad for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Hubert Velud has announced his Comoros squad for the opening two matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.

The Comoros manager named his selection on Thursday, 17 September 2026, with the Cœlacanthes beginning their campaign away to Cameroon on 24 September. They will then host Namibia on 29 September.

Velud has called up 26 players for the two September fixtures. The squad includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders, six midfielders and seven forwards.

Among those selected are Warmed Omari, Ben Djaloud Youssouf, Yacine Bourhane, Rayan Lutin, Zaydou Youssouf, Aymeric Ahmed and Enzo Riviere.

Goalkeepers: Yannick Pandor, Adel Anzimati, Naim Said Mchindra.

Defenders: Warmed Omari, Ben Djaloud Youssouf, Idrisse Mohamed, Yakine Said M’Madi, Yannis Kari, Akim Abdallah, Kenan Toibibou, Ali Mohamed Abdallah.

Midfielders: Yacine Bourhane, Rayan Lutin, Iyad Mohamed, Zaydou Youssouf, Yassine Saindou, Ben Chayeel Hamada.

Forwards: Said Housseine Zakouani, Ali Aboubacar Abdallah, Kassim Hadji, Adel Mahamoud, Zaid Amir, Aymeric Ahmed, Enzo Riviere.

The two fixtures represent Comoros’ first opportunities to establish themselves in the qualifying group. Velud’s side will travel to Cameroon for their opening match before returning home to face Namibia five days later.

The Cœlacanthes will be aiming to make a positive start across the opening two rounds, with the home fixture against Namibia providing their first chance to play in front of their supporters in the campaign.
