Francois Kamano: Guinea winger joins IMT Belgrad on free transfer

Guinea winger Francois Kamano has joined Serbian Super Liga club IMT Belgrad from FK Sochi on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old left winger completed the move on 17 September 2026 after one season with Sochi, having arrived at the Russian club from Saudi Arabian side Damac FC in September 2025, also as a free agent.

Kamano brings extensive experience from across European and Middle Eastern football. He has made 160 Ligue 1 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 14 assists, while his career also includes spells in Russia’s Premier Liga and Saudi Arabia’s top flight.

The right-footed attacker spent four seasons with Bordeaux after joining from French club SC Bastia in 2016. He later moved to Lokomotiv Moscow in 2020 for a reported €5.5m transfer fee, before switching to Abha on a free transfer in 2023.

His time at Lokomotiv brought one of the major honours of his career. Kamano helped the Moscow club win the Russian Cup in 2021 and finished as the competition’s leading scorer that season with four goals.

He has also featured in European competition, recording appearances in the Europa League, Europa League qualifying and the UEFA Champions League. His career record includes nine Europa League appearances and four Champions League matches.

Kamano’s previous Saudi Arabian experience came with Abha and Damac, where he played in the Saudi Pro League and Saudi First Division League. Across 61 Saudi Pro League appearances, he scored six goals and supplied six assists.

At IMT Belgrad, Kamano joins a club competing in the Super Liga Srbije and adds experience on the left side of the attack. He stands 1.75m tall and has represented Guinea, with his birthplace recorded as Conakry.

The move represents the latest stage of a career that has taken Kamano from Guinea to France, Russia, Saudi Arabia and now Serbia. He leaves FK Sochi without a transfer fee being paid and begins his next chapter with IMT Belgrad.
