Abde Rebbach: the Alaves winger making his mark in La Liga

At 28, Abde Rebbach is continuing to establish himself in Spanish football, with the Algeria-born winger now a regular starter for Deportivo Alaves in La Liga.

Born in Blida in 1998, Rebbach has gradually increased his importance at the club after working his way through the lower levels of the Spanish game. Here are three key facts about the player.

A rise built away from the spotlight

Rebbach’s development did not begin at one of Spain’s most prominent academies. Instead, he progressed through clubs including Aurrera Vitoria and San Ignacio, gaining experience in the lower divisions.

That step-by-step route allowed him to develop before reaching the top level. His ability to operate on the left wing, combining pace, direct running and technical quality, eventually helped him earn an opportunity with Deportivo Alaves.

Rather than arriving in the spotlight, Rebbach built his reputation steadily through performances at each stage of his career.

A century of appearances for Alaves

Rebbach has now become an established member of the Alaves squad. His consistent progress has seen him reach 100 appearances for the club, while this season he has secured a regular place in the team’s starting line-up in La Liga.

The Algeria international hopeful is contracted to Alaves until 2028. His current market value is estimated at 2.5 million euros by Transfermarkt.

His form has also attracted attention from clubs outside Spain, particularly in France and Belgium. However, Rebbach has made clear that he wants to continue developing his career in Spanish football.

A future with Algeria in mind

Although his football education has taken place entirely in Spain, Rebbach retains a strong connection with Algeria, the country of his birth.

The winger has never hidden his ambition to represent the national team and wear the Fennecs shirt. His growing role with Alaves has naturally increased his hopes of moving closer to a first international call-up.

Continued performances in La Liga could also bring him further into the view of the Algeria coaching staff as he seeks recognition at international level.

Rebbach will next have the opportunity to feature when Alaves face Athletic Club in the seventh round of the Spanish championship.
