Barcelona monitor Norway midfielder Bo Hegland after impressive Djurgarden form

Barcelona are monitoring Djurgarden midfielder Bo Hegland after the 22-year-old Norwegian’s impressive performances in the Swedish league this season.

Representatives from the Catalan club were in the stands for Djurgarden’s match against GAIS on 14 September, according to Swedish newspaper Expressen. Djurgarden won the game 2-0, with Barcelona’s scouts reportedly watching Hegland closely.

Hegland has matched the Swedish league record for assists this season and recently turned down an offer from Belgian club Anderlecht.

The midfielder has played 26 matches for Djurgarden during the current campaign, scoring nine goals and providing 17 assists.

Barcelona have previously shown an interest in young talent from the Swedish league. In 2023, the club followed Lucas Bergvall, who was then playing for Djurgarden.

The Spanish side tried to sign Bergvall, but the player opted to move to Tottenham in January 2024.
