Patson Daka leaves Hamburger SV training early

Patson Daka completed only part of Hamburger SV’s training session on Tuesday afternoon, leaving the pitch before the workout had finished.

The striker reportedly headed toward the dressing room after less than an hour, according to the Hamburger Morgenpost.

At present, there is no clear explanation for the early departure. It remains uncertain whether Daka experienced discomfort or whether his shortened session had already been planned by the coaching staff. HSV have not indicated that the Zambia international has suffered a fresh injury.

Daka’s fitness will now be monitored closely as Hamburg continue their preparations. The forward is an important attacking option for the club, and any absence could affect selection plans. However, until further information emerges, it would be premature to draw conclusions from his early exit.

Daka’s football journey began at Kafue Celtic, where he developed between 2007 and 2014. He later played for the club’s senior side and spent loan spells with Nchanga Rangers and Power Dynamos. His European career included Liefering and Red Bull Salzburg before he joined Leicester City in 2021, before moving to HSV in July 2026.

The striker’s next training sessions should clarify whether Tuesday’s decision was precautionary or injury-related.
