Mohammed Kudus’ Ghana place in doubt for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Mohammed Kudus’ involvement in Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign is uncertain after Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto De Zerbi questioned whether the midfielder is ready to play a full role for the Black Stars.

Kudus, 25, has only recently returned to competitive action after being sidelined with a long-term injury since January 2026. He made his comeback against Newcastle United at the end of last month and has since featured in matches against Nottingham Forest and Everton.

The Ghana international has made three consecutive substitute appearances, but De Zerbi believes he has yet to regain his best level of fitness and match sharpness.

The Tottenham coaching staff’s concerns could lead Ghana manager to take a cautious approach before selecting Kudus for the country’s upcoming continental fixtures.
