Gambia midfielder Modou Lamin Mass joins STK Samorin on loan from ETO FC

Gambia midfielder Modou Lamin Mass has joined Slovakia’s STK Samorin on loan from Hungarian club ETO FC, completing a move that will take him to the end of the 2026-27 season.

The 19-year-old midfielder moved to Samorin on 14 September and will remain with the II Liga club until 30 June 2027. At the end of the loan, he is scheduled to return to ETO FC.

Mass joined ETO FC from Almasi FA on 13 July 2026 before making the move across the border to Samorin two months later. His switch to ETO came ahead of the new campaign, while his latest transfer gives him a new opportunity in Slovakia’s second tier.

Before leaving ETO, Mass made two appearances in the qualifying rounds of the Uefa Conference League, playing a total of 39 minutes. He did not score or provide an assist in those matches.

The move takes Mass from a club competing in Hungary’s NB I to a side in the Slovak II Liga. Samorin’s league campaign is under way, while the Gambia international has yet to make a league appearance for his new club.

Mass was born in Wellingara and represents The Gambia internationally. He turned 19 in March and plays in midfield, the position in which he has been used during his early senior career.

His arrival at Samorin follows a short initial spell at ETO, where he had joined after leaving Almasi FA. The loan agreement provides a clear route back to the Hungarian club when it expires next summer, with no permanent transfer fee recorded for the move.

Mass’s early competitive involvement this season came in European qualifying, where his two appearances amounted to 11% of the available minutes in the Conference League qualifying campaign. He now joins Samorin for the remainder of the season under an arrangement that ends on 30 June 2027.

The transfer was completed on 14 September 2026, with Mass becoming an STK Samorin player on loan from ETO FC.
