Guinea fight back to beat Mali and reach UFOA A U17 semi-finals

Guinea overturned an early deficit to defeat Mali 2-1 and secure a place in the semi-finals of the UFOA A U17 tournament.

Mali took the lead after only two minutes when Adama Keita scored for the Aiglons in a decisive qualification clash on Monday.

The early setback did not unsettle the Syli National Cadet, who soon regained possession and began to put pressure on their opponents. Their response was rewarded in the 32nd minute, when Salif Camara produced an excellent direct free-kick to level the match.

The contest became more intense after half-time, with Guinea showing greater organisation and attacking threat.

The Guinean coaching staff’s changes helped shift the game in their side’s favour, and Facinet Camara completed the comeback in the 72nd minute with a decisive strike.

Guinea then withstood Mali’s late attacks to protect their lead in a tense finish. The victory confirms their place in the last four and underlines their ambitions in the continental tournament.
