UFOA-A U17: Mali hold Guinea to 1-1 at half-time in decisive Group B clash

Mali and Guinea are level at 1-1 at half-time in a crucial Group B match on the final day of the UFOA-A U17 tournament in Senegal.

The result currently favours Mali, who are holding on to the second qualifying position, while Guinea remain on course to be eliminated from the competition.

The Aiglons made the ideal start at Stade Lat-Dior, taking the lead after only two minutes. Adama Keita reacted quickest to give Mali an early advantage and put Guinea under immediate pressure.

Guinea gradually settled into the contest and began to take control of possession and territory. Their response was rewarded in the 32nd minute, when Salif Camara produced an excellent free-kick to bring the Sily National level.

Despite Guinea’s equaliser, the 1-1 scoreline leaves Mali in the stronger position with the match at the interval. A draw would consolidate their place in the qualification spots, whereas Guinea need a victory to keep their hopes alive.

The second half is expected to be decisive. Guinea must attack in search of the winning goal, while Mali will look to protect their advantage in the qualification race and secure a place in the next round.
