Adi Hutter praises Noel Aseko after Eintracht Frankfurt debut

Noel Aseko made an encouraging first appearance for Eintracht Frankfurt, starting in the 3-1 Bundesliga victory over Mainz and completing around 60 minutes before making way for Mario Gotze.

The 20-year-old midfielder used his opportunity well after a lengthy period away from competitive football.

Head coach Adi Hutter was pleased with Aseko’s performance and praised the progress he had shown during training. The manager admitted that the youngster is “not quite where he should be yet,” but insisted he has already “shown more than enough” of his potential.

“What impressed me enormously was how he has trained over the past two and a half weeks. It was simply noticeable,” Hutter explained. The midfielder then carried that positive work into the match, earning further approval from his coach.

“He did very well today, in my opinion, for as long as he had the energy,” Hutter said. However, Aseko is still rebuilding his fitness and is not yet ready to play beyond an hour. “He is not at 100 percent yet, but he will certainly be a lot of fun for the future,” the coach added.

The early substitution had been planned, with Aseko indicating that his energy would run out soon.
