Smouha end 10-match winless run with victory over Talaea El Gaish

Smouha claimed their first Egyptian Premier League victory in 10 matches by beating Tala’ea El Gaish 1-0 in the fifth round.

Mohamed Said “Makrona” scored the only goal of the game, securing Smouha’s first league win after a run stretching across 10 matches, including the previous season.

Before this result, Smouha had lost nine of those games and drawn the other.

Makrona struck in the 62nd minute with a well-placed header to settle the match. The goal was his first since scoring against Al Ittihad Al Sakandary on 14 May 2024 during the 2023-24 season.

The victory lifted Smouha to four points and moved them into 16th place in the Egyptian Premier League table.

Tala’ea El Gaish remain on seven points in seventh position.
