Al Ahli supporters directed jeers at head coach Marino Pusic as their dissatisfaction with the team’s performances and results this season continued.
The Saudi Pro League side hosted Al Hazem at Al Inma Stadium in Jeddah on Friday in the seventh round of the Roshn Saudi League.
Despite Al Ahli leading 3-1 at half-time, supporters booed Pusic as he left the pitch alongside his players. Al Ahli had fallen behind to a goal in the second minute before recovering to establish a two-goal advantage.
A video published by Saudi newspaper Al Youm on its official X account showed the crowd’s reaction as the Dutch manager made his way off the field at the interval.
The post was captioned: “Al Ahli fans boo the team’s coach, Marino Pusic, after the end of the first half despite leading against Al Hazem.”
Pusic is the second Al Ahli figure to receive such a response from the club’s supporters this season. Ukraine midfielder Artem Bondarenko was previously subjected to jeers during Al Ahli’s 5-0 victory over Al Riyadh in the fourth round of the Roshn Saudi League.
Al Ahli have suffered three defeats in the league this season. They lost 3-1 to Al Kholood, 3-0 to Al Hilal and 3-2 to Al Qadsiah.
Those results have left the club outside the contest for top spot in the table.
