Anagennisi Karditsa sign Ivorian midfielder Hamed Kader Fofana on free transfer

Ivorian midfielder Hamed Kader Fofana has joined Anagennisi Karditsa from AEK Athens on a free transfer, making the move to Greece’s second tier on 12 September 2026.

The 21-year-old central midfielder has agreed a contract running until 30 June 2027. He will continue his career in Greece after leaving AEK Athens, who he joined following a spell with the club’s second team.

Fofana began his time at AEK Athens in July 2024, arriving from Ivoire FC on a free transfer. He initially joined AEK Athens B before moving into the senior club structure the following season.

During the 2025-26 campaign, Fofana spent time on loan at Iraklis. The midfielder helped the Thessaloniki club win the Greek second tier title, before returning to AEK Athens at the end of the loan spell on 30 June 2026.

His move to Anagennisi Karditsa represents his latest change of club within the Greek football system. The transfer history records the switch as a free transfer, with his market value listed at €300,000 at the time of the move.

Fofana has previously moved between Ivoire FC, AEK Athens B, AEK Athens and Iraklis since arriving in Greek football. He joined AEK Athens B on loan from Ivoire FC in August 2023, returned to his former club at the end of that season and then made the move to Greece permanently in July 2024.

The midfielder’s recent campaign also included a title-winning season with Iraklis, although no appearances or goals are recorded for his current 2026-27 campaign. He now joins Anagennisi Karditsa as the club competes in Super League 2.

Fofana’s transfer was completed on 12 September, and his agreement with Anagennisi Karditsa is set to run through June 2027.
