Morocco goalkeeper Youssef Laghzal joins Beni Mellal on a free transfer

Youssef Laghzal, the 25-year-old Morocco goalkeeper, has joined Beni Mellal on a free transfer from Ittihad Tanger.

The move was completed on 12 September 2026, bringing Laghzal’s time with Ittihad Tanger to an end after three years with the club. He switches clubs within Moroccan football and will continue his career with Beni Mellal.

Born in Fes on 1 January 2001, Laghzal has played as a goalkeeper throughout his senior career. His move to Beni Mellal follows a spell at Ittihad Tanger, which he joined from Union Touarga in August 2023, also on a free transfer.

Before moving to Ittihad Tanger, Laghzal had two spells connected with Union Touarga. He initially joined the club from AM Football in November 2020 before moving to Wydad Fes on loan in January 2022. The goalkeeper returned to Union Touarga at the end of that loan in June 2022.

Laghzal’s arrival gives Beni Mellal a goalkeeper with experience of moving between Moroccan clubs and follows a series of changes in his career since entering senior football. His earlier transfer from AM Football to Union Touarga began his spell at the club, while his temporary switch to Wydad Fes was the only loan move recorded in his career.

The transfer was completed without a fee, and no contract expiry date has been announced for Laghzal’s agreement with Beni Mellal.

He now joins Beni Mellal after leaving Ittihad Tanger, completing a free transfer on 12 September 2026.
