Noah Edjouma set to return after international break

Noah Edjouma will remain sidelined for several weeks after suffering a hamstring injury during his first appearance for Stade Brestois.

The Lille winger joined Brest on loan in search of regular playing time, but his debut ended after only 20 minutes when he was forced off.

The injury initially raised concerns, although the latest update offers some relief. Brest coach Julien Lachuer confirmed that Edjouma will miss Sunday’s Ligue 1 meeting with Paris Saint-Germain and the following league fixture. However, the problem is not as serious as first feared.

“Noah will also return after the international break, but it is less serious than expected,” Lachuer said during his pre-match press conference.

Edjouma had been managed carefully throughout the week while Brest’s medical staff assessed the muscle issue. Although his absence will interrupt his early adaptation to Brittany, the winger should have time to recover before resuming his loan spell.

The move from Lille was designed to give the 20-year-old more opportunities to develop and gain valuable Ligue 1 experience. Competition for places at Lille had limited his prospects, making Brest an appealing destination.

His immediate priority is now a complete recovery, with the hope that he can return after the international break and begin rebuilding his momentum.
