South Africa’s head coach, Hugo Broos, has disclosed the starting lineup for Bafana Bafana as they prepare to face Nigeria at the Bouaké stadium in a bid to secure a spot in the final and vie for a remarkable 3rd Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title.
A few moments before the kickoff at the Bouaké stadium, Broos unveiled his strategic starting eleven, opting for a 4-3-3 formation for the first time in the ongoing AFCON 2023 tournament.
Surprisingly, the Belgian coach has decided to stick with the same starting lineup that featured in the previous encounters against Morocco in the round of 16 and Cape Verde in the quarter-finals.
The sole change in the lineup sees Siyanda Xulu stepping in for the injured Thapelo Morena, who is sidelined for the remainder of the tournament due to adductor injuries.
The official line-up for South Africa versus Nigeria is as follows:
Goalkeeper: Rouwen Williams
Defenders: Khuliso Mudau, Grant Kekana, Mothobi Mvala, Aubrey Modiba
Midfielders: Siyanda Xulu, Sphephelo Sithole, Themba Zwane
Forwards: Percy Tau, Evidence Makgopa, Teboho Mokoena
With the spotlight on Bafana Bafana’s formidable lineup, the stage is set for an electrifying encounter against the Super Eagles.
Broos, known for his meticulous approach, seems to have found a winning formula, placing his trust in a consistent starting eleven that aims to secure South Africa’s advancement to the AFCON 2023 final.
As fans eagerly await kickoff, the South Africa vs Nigeria clash promises to be a gripping spectacle, with both teams vying for a chance to etch their names in AFCON history.
