Mali defender Mouhammade Camara joins Aarhus GF from Under-19 side

Mali centre-back Mouhammade Camara has joined Aarhus GF from the club’s Under-19 team, stepping up to the Danish Superliga side at the age of 19.

Camara’s move was completed on 10 September 2026, and he is contracted to Aarhus GF until 30 June 2030. The 1.92m defender wears number 44 and is the latest player to progress from the club’s youth structure into its senior squad.

The left-footed defender has already featured regularly for Aarhus GF in the 2026-27 campaign, making five Superliga appearances and playing 307 minutes. He has also started both of the club’s Europa League qualifying matches, completing 180 minutes across the two games.

Camara has made two appearances in Champions League qualifying, although his involvement has been limited to 39 minutes. Across those European fixtures, he has not scored or provided an assist and has received one yellow card in each competition.

His promotion follows just over a year with Aarhus GF’s Under-19 team. Camara joined the youth side from Derby Academy on 1 September 2025 before making the move into the club’s first-team set-up.

The teenager’s early senior involvement has come in both domestic and European competition. He has started every Europa League qualifying match in which he has played and has been used in five of Aarhus GF’s first seven possible Superliga games this season.

Camara remains eligible for Under-19 football but has not appeared in that competition during the current campaign. His progress has instead been reflected in his first-team minutes, with his appearances coming against senior opposition in Denmark and in European qualifying.

The move gives Aarhus GF a young central defensive option who is already familiar with the club’s system after his season in the Under-19 squad. Camara has now formally joined the senior team and will remain with Aarhus GF under a contract running until June 2030.
