Lior Kassa joins M. Petah Tikva from Maccabi Haifa on loan

Israeli-Ethiopian midfielder Lior Kassa has joined M. Petah Tikva from Maccabi Haifa on loan, completing a move between two clubs in Israel’s top division.

Kassa, 20, plays in central midfield and switches clubs after making M. Petah Tikva his new side on 8 September 2026. The transfer keeps him in the Ligat ha’Al, where his former club Maccabi Haifa also competes.

The move places Kassa at a new club within the same league as he begins the next stage of his career. His role as a central midfielder provides the clearest context for the transfer, with M. Petah Tikva adding a player who operates in the middle of the pitch.

Kassa holds Israeli and Ethiopian nationality and had been part of the Maccabi Haifa setup before leaving for the loan move. He now changes his club affiliation while remaining in Israel’s leading domestic competition.

M. Petah Tikva have taken Kassa on loan from Maccabi Haifa, with the completed transfer recorded on 8 September. No transfer fee has been provided for the move, and no contract length has been specified.

The switch also separates Kassa from Maccabi Haifa’s squad while giving him a new setting at M. Petah Tikva. Both clubs are listed in the Ligat ha’Al, meaning the midfielder remains in familiar domestic competition despite changing employers.

Kassa’s listed market value is €1.3m, although that figure is separate from the terms of the loan transfer. The 20-year-old’s move is therefore a temporary change of club rather than a permanent departure from Maccabi Haifa.

The central midfielder has now completed his loan move from Maccabi Haifa to M. Petah Tikva.
