Bayern Munich insist Michael Olise is not for sale amid transfer speculation

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has insisted that the German champions have no intention of selling Michael Olise, despite continued speculation linking the French winger with a move away from the club.

Olise has been repeatedly linked with Real Madrid, but Eberl says Bayern are determined to keep one of their key players as they pursue major trophies, including the UEFA Champions League.

The Bayern sporting director also revealed that the club expects to have greater clarity over Olise’s long-term future by next summer.

Eberl dismisses transfer concerns

Speaking to SportBild, Eberl recalled his only direct contact with Olise during the World Cup.

The Bayern official admitted he initially wondered whether the Frenchman might raise questions about his future at the club.

“Michael sent me a WhatsApp message during the World Cup. I hesitated for a moment before opening it. I didn’t know if he might actually bring up this topic,” he said.

However, Eberl revealed that the message had nothing to do with a potential transfer.

“But it was a photo with Manu Koné, whom I had brought to Gladbach back then, with a heart underneath. The two of them sent me warm greetings from America. After that, I asked Michael if he wanted the number 11 jersey next season. But he wanted to keep number 17. That was my contact with Michael, so everything was always fine,” Eberl explained.

Bayern unwilling to sell key stars

Eberl made Bayern’s position clear when asked whether the club could be tempted by a major offer for Olise.

“If you want to win the Champions League, this question doesn’t arise. That’s the beauty of Bayern Munich: you don’t have to give in to any sum of money,” he said.

The comments underline Bayern’s determination to retain Olise as an important part of their squad rather than cashing in on the highly-rated attacker.

Contract decision expected next summer

While Bayern remain relaxed about Olise’s immediate future, the club are already looking ahead to the long-term situation.

Managing director Jan-Christian Dreesen recently suggested that discussions surrounding the player’s future would become more important next summer.

Eberl has now provided a clearer timeline.

“We should know by next summer whether he’s inclined to extend his contract or not,” he explained.

Olise’s current Bayern Munich contract runs until 2029 and does not contain a release clause.

Bayern determined to keep Olise

With several years remaining on his current deal, Bayern are in a strong position regarding Olise’s future.

The club’s stance also sends a clear message to potential suitors, including Real Madrid, that the French international is considered central to Bayern’s ambitions.

For now, Bayern’s focus remains on keeping their best players and building a team capable of competing for Europe’s biggest prizes rather than being tempted by offers for one of their most valuable assets.
