Hans Nunoo Sarpei has officially joined the ranks of HJK Helsinki in Finland. The Ghanaian midfielder, formerly with Ingolstadt in Germany, signed a fixed-term contract with his new club after an impressive week-and-a-half trial period.
Sarpei, a defensive midfield stalwart, showcased his prowess during the trial, leaving an indelible mark on HJK Helsinki’s management, leading to his recruitment for the upcoming two seasons.
The deal includes an optional third year, underlining the confidence both parties have in the collaboration. Throughout this contractual period, Sarpei is set to represent HJK Helsinki in various competitions.
Having been unattached to a club since the conclusion of his contract with Ingolstadt, Sarpei expressed his enthusiasm for embarking on a new adventure.
“It is time to start writing a new chapter in my history with HJK and its great supporters and to share every moment together,” stated Sarpei, expressing his gratitude to the club’s management, coaches, and players for the opportunity to rediscover the joy of football.
The sporting director of HJK Helsinki, Vesa Mäki, officially announced the signing of the 25-year-old Ghanaian, acknowledging Sarpei’s qualities.
“Hans brings balance to the midfield, physicality in our pressing game, and quality in breaking the lines.
His experience in major German championships will be useful to us in European matches, for example,” noted Mäki.
Hans Nunoo Sarpei is set to don the number 14 jersey during his tenure with HJK, a symbolic representation of his integral role in the squad.
As the Ghanaian midfielder commences this new chapter of his career, the HJK Helsinki community eagerly anticipates the positive impact he will bring to the team in the upcoming seasons.
