Saudi giants Al-Hilal submit €120m bid for Morocco star Achraf Hakimi – report

Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal have reportedly submitted a €120m bid to Paris Saint-Germain for Morocco international Achraf Hakimi.

According to Fichajes, Al-Hilal are prepared to make a significant financial commitment in an attempt to lure the 27-year-old away from the French champions.

Hakimi remains under contract with PSG until June 2029, placing the Parisian club in a strong position as they consider any potential interest in one of their most important players.

Hakimi remains central to PSG plans

The Morocco international has continued to play a key role for PSG and has already featured in the opening matches of the 2026-27 season.

Since joining the French club from Inter Milan in 2021 for €60m, Hakimi has made more than 200 official appearances for the Parisians.

The African star has established himself as one of the world’s leading right-backs, contributing both defensively and offensively while helping PSG win multiple domestic and European honours.

Hakimi also remains an influential figure away from the pitch, serving as a mentor and reference point for younger players within PSG’s academy system.

PSG protected by long-term contract

PSG extended Hakimi’s contract in February 2025, securing his services until 30 June 2029.

The long-term agreement means the French champions are under no immediate pressure to sell the Moroccan international.

However, a €120m offer would represent a substantial profit for PSG, who paid half that amount to bring him from Inter Milan five years ago.

The proposed fee would also place Hakimi among the most expensive defenders in football history.

Saudi Arabia’s pursuit of African stars continues

Al-Hilal’s reported interest reflects the continued ambition of Saudi Arabian clubs to attract elite players from European football.

Hakimi’s status as one of Africa’s biggest football stars makes him an especially high-profile target for the Saudi Pro League.

The Moroccan defender scored twice and registered two assists in 18 Ligue 1 appearances during the 2025-26 season while remaining a regular in PSG’s European campaign.

PSG must now decide whether to retain an indispensable member of their squad or consider a record-breaking financial offer for one of African football’s most valuable players.
