Morocco youngster Yassine Jassim impresses as Strasbourg hammer Troyes
Moroccan international Yassine Jassim continued his impressive start to the season by providing an assist as Strasbourg cruised to a 6-2 victory over Troyes in the third round of the French league on Sunday.
Troyes made a bright start and took the lead in the ninth minute through Antoine Mille, but Strasbourg quickly grew into the contest and eventually turned the game into a one-sided affair.
Jassim played a key role in the visitors’ equaliser, delivering the pass that allowed Jacopo Ortega to restore parity in the 40th minute.
Just two minutes later, Diogo Sousa completed Strasbourg’s turnaround by putting them 2-1 ahead before the interval.
Strasbourg continued their dominance after the restart, with Giovanni Reyna extending their advantage in the 57th minute to put the visitors firmly in control.
The visitors then added three more goals in the closing stages. Samuel Amoah-Ameya scored twice in quick succession in the 85th and 88th minutes before Konrad Harder completed the scoring for Strasbourg deep into stoppage time.
Troyes managed to find a late consolation through Guillaume Loudoiron in the fifth minute of added time, but the goal had little bearing on the outcome as Strasbourg comfortably secured all three points.
For Jassim, the performance represents another impressive contribution in what has been a promising start to the campaign.
The Moroccan has already established himself as an important attacking outlet for Strasbourg, following his outstanding display in the previous round when he scored twice to help his side come from behind against Lens and secure a 1-0 victory.
With another assist against Troyes, Jassim is continuing to demonstrate his influence in the final third and will be hoping to maintain his strong form as the French league season progresses.
