Rajecko add Nigeria winger Uchechi Okoye to attacking ranks
Nigeria winger Uchechi Okoye has joined Rajecko, giving the Czech club a new right-sided attacking option. The 20-year-old completed the move on 5 September 2026 after being without a club.
Okoye plays as a right winger and arrives at Rajecko following his departure from Jihlava earlier in 2026. He had joined Jihlava from Jihlava Under-19 in July 2025, having previously played for Right2Win SA.
The move follows a season in which Okoye featured regularly across youth and senior competitions. He made 16 appearances in the 1. liga U19, scoring five goals, and added a further five goals in 14 MSFL appearances. He also played once in the MOL Cup.
Okoye’s spell at Jihlava included a loan move to Vrchovina NMnM at the start of the 2025-26 season. He joined the club on 1 August 2025 before returning to Jihlava on 31 December, with his association with Jihlava ending on 1 January 2026.
The Nigerian’s record in the 1. liga U19 saw him score once every 175 minutes, while his five goals in the MSFL came at a rate of one every 145 minutes. He played 874 minutes in the youth competition and 725 minutes in the MSFL.
His only MOL Cup appearance lasted the full 90 minutes. Across the recorded competitions in the 2025-26 campaign, he therefore contributed 10 goals in 31 appearances, with his playing time spread between youth football, the MSFL and cup competition.
Okoye was born on 23 July 2006 and has Nigeria listed as his nationality. His arrival gives Rajecko a young winger with recent experience in both under-19 and senior football in the Czech game.
He joins Rajecko without a listed contract expiry date, and the transfer was registered on 5 September. No transfer fee was recorded for the move.
Okoye’s career has included time with Right2Win SA, Jihlava Under-19, Jihlava and Vrchovina NMnM before his latest switch. His move to Rajecko is now complete.
