Raja Casablanca complete free move for Tunisian-French forward Adel Bettaieb

Tunisian-French centre-forward Adel Bettaieb has joined Raja Casablanca from Esperance on a free transfer, adding a new attacking option to the Moroccan club’s squad. The 29-year-old has signed a contract with Raja that runs until 30 June 2028.

Bettaieb arrives in Casablanca after a short spell with Esperance, having joined the Tunisian club from FC Arges on 23 July 2026. That move was also completed without a transfer fee, before he made the latest switch on 5 September.

The forward began the 2026-27 campaign in Ligue 1 but did not make an appearance for Esperance before leaving. His move to Raja represents a return to club football in North Africa after a sequence of transfers across Tunisia, Romania and Turkey.

Bettaieb was born in Villiers-le-Bel, France, and holds both Tunisian and French nationality. He operates primarily as a centre-forward, is 1.84m tall and favours his right foot.

His career has included spells with FC Arges, Universitatea Cluj, ACSM Poli Iasi, Boluspor and Umraniyespor. Before moving to Turkey in 2022, he spent three seasons with F91 Dudelange in Luxembourg, where he won the Luxembourgish championship in the 2021-22 season.

Bettaieb’s first senior move came from Angers SCO B to UR La Louviere in 2018, following his time with Angers’ under-19 side. He subsequently developed his career through clubs in Belgium, Luxembourg, Turkey, Romania and Tunisia before securing his latest move to Morocco.

Raja Casablanca will now have Bettaieb under contract for the next two seasons, with his deal in place until the end of June 2028.
