Al-Ittihad make final €40m push for Hadj Moussa as Feyenoord talks reach crucial stage

Al-Ittihad have made a final offer worth €40m for Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa, but the Saudi club are also preparing an alternative target as time runs short to complete the deal.

Hadj Moussa is Al-Ittihad’s preferred option for a new attacking wide player, although negotiations with Feyenoord have become increasingly complicated. The Saudi club remain determined to reach an agreement for the Algeria international, but have begun exploring other possibilities in case the transfer cannot be completed soon.

The 24-year-old is also understood to be keen to leave Feyenoord. He has informed the Dutch club’s management that he wants to take on a new challenge, a factor that could help Al-Ittihad maintain their pursuit despite the difficulties surrounding the negotiations.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Al-Ittihad are continuing to work on a deal for Hadj Moussa while simultaneously making initial contact over a possible move for Luiz Henrique, who plays for Zenit.

Romano wrote: “Al-Ittihad continue working on the deal to try to sign Anis Hadj Moussa as a new winger. If no agreement is reached with Feyenoord soon, Al-Ittihad will move for Luiz Henrique of Zenit, and initial contacts have already begun regarding the deal.”

The move for Luiz Henrique gives Al-Ittihad a clear contingency plan should their discussions with Feyenoord fail to produce an agreement before the transfer window closes. Hadj Moussa remains the club’s first choice, but the Brazilian winger is now positioned as a ready-made alternative.

Al-Ittihad are keen to avoid reaching the final hours of the transfer market without adding a new attacking option. The club’s management see greater depth on the flanks as an important requirement and are therefore pushing to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

The next stage of the negotiations is expected to determine the identity of Al-Ittihad’s next winger. The club must either persuade Feyenoord to accept the €40m proposal and complete the signing of Hadj Moussa, or switch their focus to Luiz Henrique before the market shuts.

Hadj Moussa has made 18 appearances for Algeria. He began his football career in France with the Lens academy before moving to Feyenoord in 2024, continuing his development in Dutch football.

The coming hours could therefore prove decisive. Al-Ittihad have not abandoned their efforts to sign Hadj Moussa, but their approach for Luiz Henrique ensures they have another route if the agreement with Feyenoord cannot be reached in time.
