SAER SECK, PRESIDENT OF THE DIAMBARS INSTITUTE: “WE HAVE INVESTED BETWEEN 4 AND 5 BILLION FCFA IN 10 YEARS”

Saerseck1

In anticipation of the 10th-anniversary celebration of the Diambars Institute, Saer Seck, the president, shared a positive assessment of the institute’s achievements, both in sports and management. The idea for Diambars was initiated on November 1, 2003, with the presence of the first young individuals in a rented hostel in Saly. Over the years, Diambars has strived to offer unique training for young people, with a focus on producing well-rounded individuals.

Saer Seck highlighted that the monthly expenses for managing the institute amount to 15 million FCFA, with a cumulative expenditure of 4 to 5 billion FCFA over the ten-year period. On the sporting front, Diambars has successfully projected between 11 and 12 players into the professional circuits in Europe, including notable names like Idrissa Gana Guéye, Pape Ndiaye Souaré, and Kara Mbodji.

Addressing issues of age fraud, Saer Seck emphasized Diambars’ commitment to monitoring and excluding individuals found to have lied about their age. The institute conducts rigorous entrance tests, with only a small percentage admitted from a pool of thousands of young individuals.

The Diambars Institute has achieved success in Senegalese competitions, securing four trophies in just five years. Their latest triumph as Senegal champions qualifies them for participation in the upcoming African Champions League. The institute’s inauguration is set to be attended by Senegal’s Head of State, Macky Sall, on November 5.
