National Bank of Egypt boss Ayman El-Ramady stable after heart stent procedure

National Bank of Egypt have announced that head coach Ayman El-Ramady is in a stable condition after suffering a health problem and undergoing a procedure to insert a stent in his heart.

El-Ramady was taken to hospital on Saturday morning after falling ill. The club said his condition had since stabilised following the medical intervention and that he is expected to leave hospital on Sunday, once doctors have completed their final checks.

National Bank of Egypt expressed its wishes for El-Ramady’s speedy recovery, continued good health and a return to his coaching duties with the team as soon as possible.

The Egyptian club also said it hoped the manager would be able to resume his work with the squad at the earliest opportunity, although his immediate priority remains his recovery following the procedure.

El-Ramady has been in charge of National Bank of Egypt since the start of last season. His side have collected one victory and suffered two defeats in the Egyptian Premier League after the opening three rounds of the current campaign.

National Bank of Egypt are scheduled to face Ghazl El Mahalla on Monday, 7 September, at Cairo International Stadium in the fourth round of the Egyptian Premier League.

The club’s announcement came ahead of that fixture, with El-Ramady’s health now the main concern surrounding the team. National Bank of Egypt said he would depart hospital after his condition had been fully assessed, while also extending its support and best wishes to the manager.

There has been no further information regarding the length of El-Ramady’s absence from the technical area. The club’s statement focused on the stability of his condition, his expected discharge on Sunday and the hope that he will return to his responsibilities with the team soon.

His hospital admission followed the health issue he experienced earlier on Saturday. After receiving medical care and undergoing the heart procedure, his condition improved sufficiently for the club to announce that he was stable.

National Bank of Egypt will therefore continue preparations for the meeting with Ghazl El Mahalla while El-Ramady completes his recovery. The match is due to take place at Cairo International Stadium in the fourth round of the league, with the club entering the fixture after one win and two losses from its first three matches.
