Tottenham start Omar Marmoush and Savinho against Nottingham Forest

Omar Marmoush has been named in Tottenham’s starting XI for a second successive match, with the Egypt international leading the attack against Nottingham Forest in the third round of the Premier League.

Savinho, Tottenham’s new signing from Manchester City, also starts at City Ground after missing the club’s previous game against Newcastle United because of injury.

Marmoush made his Tottenham debut against Newcastle only 48 hours after completing his move. He started that match on the bench but came on during a 2-0 defeat, before being selected from the beginning for the second game in a row.

The line-up includes several changes from the side involved at Newcastle. Pedro Porro returns to the right-back position after previously operating on the right wing, while Italy international Destiny Udogie takes over at left-back from Scotland defender Andrew Robertson.

In midfield, Conor Gallagher replaces Portugal international Matheus Fernandes.

Tottenham, managed by Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi, are still searching for both their first goal and their first victory of the season. They begin the match at the bottom of the Premier League table, while Nottingham Forest are 15th with one point.

The match will kick off at 17:00 at City Ground, Nottingham Forest’s home stadium.

Marmoush’s inclusion gives Tottenham another opportunity to assess their new attacking combination, with Savinho also making his first start since arriving from Manchester City. The Brazilian winger was unavailable for the Newcastle fixture because of injury but has now been cleared to return to the starting line-up.

Tottenham’s immediate priority is to end a difficult start under De Zerbi. After two matches, they remain without a goal and without a win, leaving them at the foot of the table before the trip to Forest.

Forest, meanwhile, enter the contest in 15th place with one point. Their position means Tottenham have a chance to move away from the bottom if they can secure their opening victory of the campaign, although the visitors must also find their first goal of the season.

The game therefore marks another important test for Marmoush, who is being trusted from the outset after making his debut in challenging circumstances at Newcastle. It also represents Savinho’s return to competitive action after his injury absence.
