Molade Olanrewaju makes Slovenia move as NK Bravo recruit Nigerian defender

Nigeria centre-back Molade Olanrewaju has joined Slovenian side NK Bravo from Ikorodu City, moving from the Nigeria Professional Football League to the Prva Liga.

The 22-year-old completed the switch on 4 September 2026 and has signed a contract with Bravo running until 30 June 2027. He becomes part of the club’s defensive group after spending the opening part of the 2026-27 campaign with Ikorodu City.

Olanrewaju had not made an appearance in the Nigeria Professional Football League during the current season before moving to Slovenia. His transfer follows a spell at Ikorodu City that began in January 2026, when he joined from fellow Nigerian club FC Heartland.

The defender previously played for Giant Brillars before moving to Heartland in August 2024. Those successive domestic moves have now been followed by his first recorded move outside Nigeria, with Bravo providing his new base in European football.

Olanrewaju was born on 15 April 2004 and stands 1.87m tall. He is left-footed and plays primarily as a centre-back, giving Bravo a defender who can operate on the left side of the central pairing.

NK Bravo compete in Slovenia’s Prva Liga, the country’s top division. The club’s 2026-27 campaign provides the setting for Olanrewaju’s next step after his time in the NPFL, where his recent senior club career has been based.

His move comes with his recorded market value placed at €25,000, although no transfer fee has been announced for the switch. Olanrewaju’s previous club, Ikorodu City, are based in Nigeria, while Bravo are based in Slovenia, marking a clear change in league and country for the defender.

The transfer also brings an end to Olanrewaju’s short spell with Ikorodu City. He had joined them only months after leaving Heartland, but his latest move was completed before making a league appearance for the club in the new campaign.

Olanrewaju is now a NK Bravo player under contract until 30 June 2027.
