Michael Ameyaw makes Korona Kielce switch after Rakow departure

Poland-Ghana midfielder Michael Ameyaw has traded Rakow for Korona Kielce, joining the Ekstraklasa club in a move completed on 4 September 2026.

The 25-year-old right midfielder has signed a contract with Korona that runs until 30 June 2029. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move, which keeps Ameyaw in Poland’s top flight after two seasons at Rakow.

Ameyaw began the 2026-27 campaign with a significant role in Rakow’s European qualification run. He started all six of the club’s UEFA Conference League qualifying matches, playing 87% of the available minutes and scoring once. He also made three Ekstraklasa appearances before switching clubs.

His arrival gives Korona a player with experience in both domestic competition and European football. Ameyaw operates primarily on the right side of midfield and is right-footed, offering the Kielce club an established option in a position he has occupied throughout his senior career.

Ameyaw joined Rakow from Piast Gliwice in September 2024 in a deal worth €1m. He had spent three seasons with Piast after moving there from Widzew Lodz on a free transfer in July 2021.

The midfielder’s earlier career included a loan spell with Bytovia Bytow during the 2019-20 season, before he returned to Widzew. He began his senior club journey after leaving MKS Polonia’s under-19 side for Widzew in 2018.

Korona’s new signing has represented the Polish and Ghanaian football backgrounds through his nationality, having been born in Lodz. He stands 1.76m tall and joins the club at a market value of €1.5m.

Ameyaw’s move from Rakow to Korona Kielce is complete, with the midfielder contracted to his new club until June 2029.
