AS FAR beat Wydad to goalkeeper Mohamed Jamjami signing

AS FAR have completed the signing of goalkeeper Mohamed Jamjami from Kawkab Marrakech, beating fellow Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club to the player’s signature.

The move was confirmed by Kawkab Marrakech, who announced the departure of their first-choice goalkeeper to the military club during the summer transfer window.

Jamjami had also attracted interest from Wydad, who were reportedly considering a move for the goalkeeper amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Mehdi Benabid.

Royal Army win race for goalkeeper

The transfer represents another significant move in Morocco’s summer market, with Royal Army strengthening their squad ahead of the new season.

Kawkab Marrakech revealed that the deal was worth 400 million centimes, equivalent to approximately four million Moroccan dirhams.

The club also confirmed that it had negotiated a future sell-on clause, entitling Kawkab Marrakech to 20% of any transfer fee should Royal Army sell Jamjami to another club.

Kawkab bid farewell to Jamjami

Kawkab Marrakech paid tribute to the goalkeeper following his departure, thanking him for his contribution during his time at the club.

Known as Faris Al Nakhil, the Marrakech side expressed its appreciation for Jamjami’s efforts while wishing him success in the next stage of his career with Royal Army.

For Jamjami, the move offers the opportunity to join one of Morocco’s biggest and most successful clubs, while Royal Army have added further depth to their squad as they prepare for the challenges of the new domestic season and potential ambitions on the African stage.
