Elijah Odede swaps Troyes for Lommel SK in Belgian loan move

Nigeria winger Elijah Odede has joined Lommel SK from French club Troyes on loan, completing a move that takes the 19-year-old into Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League.

The deal was completed on 3 September, with Odede’s loan scheduled to run until 30 June 2027. He arrives at Lommel as a left winger and is contracted to return to Troyes at the end of the temporary transfer.

Odede, born in Ogbomosho, Nigeria, moved to Belgium after starting the 2026-27 campaign with Troyes in Ligue 1. He did not make an appearance for the French side in the two league matches available before his departure.

The right-footed attacker joined Troyes from Moldovan club FC Sheriff in September 2025 in a €3m transfer. He had moved to Sheriff earlier that year from Ikon Allah FA, beginning his senior career in Europe with the Tiraspol-based club.

During his time at Sheriff, Odede won the Moldavian Cup in the 2024-25 season. That remains his only recorded major honour, earned before his move to France.

Standing 1.75m tall, Odede’s preferred position is on the left side of attack. His arrival gives Lommel a Nigeria international prospect with experience of football in Moldova and France, although he is yet to make a league appearance during the current campaign.

Lommel’s move also provides Odede with the opportunity to play in a new competition while remaining under contract with Troyes beyond the loan period. His market value is listed at €600,000, while his highest recorded value has been €700,000.

The transfer represents Odede’s third club move since February 2025, following his switches from Ikon Allah FA to Sheriff and then from Sheriff to Troyes. He now continues his career in Belgium on a loan deal from Troyes until June 2027.
