CF Montreal has officially confirmed the loan transfer of Nigerian striker Chinonso Offor to FC Arda Kardzhali in the Bulgarian first division until the conclusion of the 2024 season. The announcement was made on Monday, solidifying Offor’s temporary move to the Bulgarian club.
The loan arrangement, set to conclude at the end of the season, comes complete with a purchase option, granting FC Arda Kardzhali the opportunity to secure the player’s services permanently.
Chinonso Offor, a 23-year-old center forward, initially entered the Major League Soccer (MLS) scene in 2020 after making his professional debut with BFC Daugavpils in Latvia in 2019.
He continued his football journey with FK Rigas Futbola Skola in the Latvian championship before joining Chicago Fire in MLS in 2020. Subsequently, Offor inked a deal with CF Montreal in 2022.
During his tenure with CF Montreal, the Nigerian forward showcased his talent, making 14 starting appearances and contributing 4 goals to the team’s tally.
Now, he is set to embark on a new chapter in his career, embracing the challenges of the Bulgarian championship as FC Arda Kardzhali eagerly welcomes him into their squad.
This loan move provides Offor with an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a different footballing landscape while offering FC Arda Kardzhali a dynamic talent to bolster their attacking options.
The inclusion of a purchase option underscores the potential for a more permanent union, making this loan spell a strategic move for both the player and the Bulgarian club.
