Lasso Coulibaly: Ivorian winger joins Viborg FF from AJ Auxerre on loan

Ivorian winger Lasso Coulibaly has joined Danish club Viborg FF from AJ Auxerre on loan, completing a move that takes the 23-year-old to the Superliga until 30 June 2027.

Coulibaly, who plays on the right wing and is right-footed, moves to Denmark after making one Ligue 1 appearance for Auxerre at the start of the 2026-27 season. He played seven minutes in that outing and had not scored or provided an assist before switching clubs.

The move gives Coulibaly a change of league after two years in France. Auxerre signed him from Danish side Nordsjaelland on 1 July 2024 for €2m, following a spell in which he also spent part of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Randers FC.

During his time at Nordsjaelland, Coulibaly progressed from the club’s under-19 side into the senior squad. He first joined Nordsjaelland’s youth setup from Ghanaian football academy Right to Dream in February 2021 on a free transfer, before moving into first-team football in July of that year.

The Bouake-born player returned to Nordsjaelland after his loan at Randers ended in June 2024, then completed his permanent transfer to Auxerre the following month. His move to Viborg is his latest switch between clubs in Denmark and France.

Coulibaly’s arrival comes with Viborg adding a player whose senior career has so far included time in both the Danish Superliga and Ligue 1. His recorded career Ligue 1 involvement consists of one appearance and 13 minutes, while his early 2026-27 campaign at Auxerre ended with one appearance before the loan was completed.

The 1.76m winger has previously reached a market value of €1.5m, while his current listed value is €800,000. Those figures do not form part of the loan agreement, which sees him leave Auxerre temporarily rather than on a permanent basis.

Coulibaly is contracted to Viborg for the duration of the loan, with the agreement running until 30 June 2027. His next recorded move is a return to Auxerre at the end of that period.

Lasso Coulibaly has therefore completed his loan transfer from AJ Auxerre to Viborg FF, with the move confirmed on 2 September 2026.
