Genclerbirligi weigh move for Nice forward Victor Orakpo

Victor Orakpo, the Nigerian forward at Nice, has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi.

The proposed switch comes with Orakpo yet to feature for Nice in Ligue 1 this season, after two possible matches. The 20-year-old centre-forward returned to the French club on 30 June following the end of a loan spell with AS Nancy.

Orakpo joined Nancy on loan from Nice on 2 February and finished the 2025-26 season there before returning to the club’s squad. He had previously spent the first part of that campaign on loan at Montpellier, before moving to Nancy.

The forward joined Nice from the club’s reserve side in July 2024 and is valued at €400,000. A move to Genclerbirligi would take him from Ligue 1 to the Turkish top flight, although there is no indication of an agreed transfer or fee.

Orakpo’s current deal with Nice runs until 30 June 2028.
