Gambia right-back Mustapha Nyassi joins Kolding IF on loan from Copenhagen
Gambia defender Mustapha Nyassi has joined Danish club Kolding IF on loan from Copenhagen U19, completing the move on 2 September 2026.
The 18-year-old right-back will remain with Kolding until 30 June 2027, with the agreement recorded as a loan transfer. He joins the club in Denmark’s 1st Division after moving up from Copenhagen’s under-19 side.
Nyassi joined Copenhagen U19 from Gambian club Real Banjul U19 on 1 January 2026. During his time in Copenhagen’s youth setup, he helped the side win the Danish Youth Championship in 2026.
The Gambian has already featured for Kolding this season, making one appearance in UEFA Conference League qualifying. He played 45 minutes in that competition and has also made two appearances in the U19 Boys League, completing 180 minutes.
Nyassi has not yet played in the Danish Superliga this season, while his Kolding appearances have come outside the domestic top flight. He is listed as a right-footed defender and will provide competition and cover at right-back for his new club.
His move to Kolding gives him a place in a senior club environment after his first spell in Denmark was spent with Copenhagen’s youth team. The transfer also marks his first recorded move away from Copenhagen since arriving from Real Banjul earlier in 2026.
Kolding’s agreement with Copenhagen runs until the end of June next year, when the player is scheduled to leave the club and return to Copenhagen. Nyassi’s current contract is listed as running until 30 June 2027.
The transfer places the young Gambian defender in the 1st Division while retaining his link with Copenhagen, where he won a national youth title during the 2025-26 campaign.
Nyassi has now officially completed his loan move from Copenhagen U19 to Kolding IF.
