Jesper Ceesay linked with Portsmouth move from Antalyaspor
Jesper Ceesay, the Gambian-Swedish midfielder at Antalyaspor, has been linked with a move to Portsmouth in the Championship.
Ceesay, 24, plays as a defensive midfielder and is currently contracted to the Turkish club until 30 June 2028. The potential move would take him from Turkey’s 1.Lig to England’s second tier.
He has not made an appearance for Antalyaspor in their five possible league matches this season, with no starts or minutes recorded. His current market value is listed at €1.5m.
Ceesay joined Antalyaspor from Swedish club Norrkoping on 12 August 2025 in a deal reported to be worth €450,000. He had spent the previous two seasons with Norrkoping after joining from AIK in March 2023.
Born in Vallingby, Sweden, Ceesay began his career with Bromma before progressing through the club’s youth system and moving into senior football. He later represented AIK and Norrkoping before making the switch to Turkey.
The reported Portsmouth interest comes with Ceesay having made no league appearance for Antalyaspor at the start of the 2026-27 campaign. His contractual commitment means any move would involve an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer.
