Musa Jatta joins Troms IL from Osters IF for €950,000
Gambia centre-back Musa Jatta has joined Norwegian club Troms IL from Swedish side Osters IF for €950,000.
The 21-year-old defender has signed a contract with Troms IL until 31 December 2030, completing his move on 2 September 2026. Jatta will move from Sweden’s Superettan to Troms IL’s Eliteserien squad after only a short spell with Osters IF.
Jatta joined Osters IF from Finnish club AC Oulu on 29 January 2026. He made 10 appearances in the 2026 Superettan campaign, playing 804 minutes, and also featured once in the Svenska Cupen. He scored no goals or assists during those appearances.
The left-footed defender has been used primarily at centre-back. Standing at 1.92m, Jatta adds a sizeable defensive presence to Troms IL’s squad as he begins the next stage of his career in Norway.
Before his move to Osters IF, Jatta played for AC Oulu, having joined the Finnish club after a spell with Slovakian side Podbrezova. He also spent time on loan at Pohronie during the 2023-24 season.
Jatta began his senior club career with Gambia-based BST Galaxy FC before moving to Podbrezova in February 2024. His route to Troms IL has therefore included football in The Gambia, Slovakia, Finland and Sweden before this latest switch to Norway.
His market value was listed at €150,000 before the move, with Troms IL paying €950,000 to secure his services. The transfer represents the largest recorded fee in Jatta’s career and gives the defender a long-term contract at his new club.
Jatta’s recent campaign at Osters IF included regular involvement in league football, while his Svenska Cupen appearance saw him start and play 78 minutes. He joins Troms IL with experience from several European leagues despite being only 21.
The completed transfer takes Jatta from Osters IF to Troms IL, where his contract runs until the end of 2030.
